For as long as I can remember, we have all heard the suggestion of being ourselves, But on the other hand, many of us in some ways or the other actually struggle with the idea. Staying true to oneself in reality, is about having self-respect as an individual and this involves standing up for one’s own values instead of caving into society demands and expectations on how to live your life to suit others. When you are being true to yourself, you are guaranteed self-independence, happiness, self-confidence and an absolute ability to navigate through our daily life more efficiently and effectively. These will however lead to a sense of satisfaction that sufficiently given your best self to humanity.
But, in other for us as humans or individuals to actually achieve this goal, we have to first of all take a good look at ourselves and ask these questions, what kind of person I want to be¬¬¬, who I want to surround myself with.
I believe we need to stop comparing our lives and what we have against what other people have. For example when we come across nice pictures of luxury and beauty from the Kardashian or anybody else, deep down inside we kind of all want what they have.
Instagram and Facebook is great example of social media platforms where all you see is people who are living extravagant lives, they wear the best clothes and shoes, use designer’s hand bags, travel to the most beautiful places and stay at the luxurious hotels.
I wanted to write about this because I have been there myself and trust me; it is not a good feeling to compare yourselfs with others again and again. We need to ignore what everyone else is doing and achieving. Our lives are about breaking our own limits and outgrowing ourselves to live our best live. You are not in competition with anyone else. Plan to outdo your past, not other people.
You need to discover your own inspiration within and what you would like to portray and have fun with it.
It’s totally fine to enjoy beautiful pictures and posts of beautiful people and places and be inspired by it.
